Service Description

4-Week Board and Train Program Transform your dog—and your life—in just four weeks. If you’re ready to see real, lasting change in your dog’s behavior but don’t have the time or know-how to train consistently every day, our 4-Week Board and Train program is designed just for you. What makes this program different? We don’t just teach your dog to obey commands. We build a foundation of respect, focus, and calm leadership using proven, relationship-based methods inspired by the NePoPo® system. This approach not only changes behaviors but deepens your bond with your dog—because at Paws & Applause, we believe the dog’s success begins with the human. How it works: For four weeks, your dog will live and train at our facility, receiving daily, focused sessions tailored to their specific needs. Each day includes structured obedience work, impulse control exercises, confidence building, and problem-solving drills designed to address common challenges like leash pulling, jumping, recall, and more. But we don’t stop there. Training continues beyond the sessions through consistent reinforcement, communication, and positive motivation. Our experienced trainers carefully monitor progress and adapt techniques to ensure your dog thrives. You’re never left in the dark: We prioritize communication and transparency. Throughout the program, you’ll receive regular updates with videos, photos, and progress reports so you can see your dog’s transformation in real-time. Plus, we provide personalized coaching to prepare you for a smooth transition when your dog comes home. What you’ll get: Daily structured training sessions tailored to your dog’s needs A customized training plan for aftercare and continued progress Focus on obedience, impulse control, socialization, and confidence Consistent communication and coaching for you Lifetime support for ongoing questions and training challenges Option for owners to visit or spend weekends with their dog during the program for hands-on learning and bonding Who this program is for: Dogs with behavior issues like leash pulling, excessive barking, jumping, or poor recall Busy owners who want professional help to jumpstart training Families wanting a stronger, more respectful relationship with their dog Anyone ready to commit to consistent follow-through for lasting change Our promise: At Paws & Applause, we treat your dog like family. 4-Week Board & Train Program Policy & Terms and Conditions Thank you for choosing Paws & Applause’s 4-Week Board and Train program. To ensure a smooth and successful experience, please review the following policies carefully: Payment & Scheduling A $500 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your dog’s placement. The full program fee must be paid in full before or at drop-off unless other arrangements are agreed upon in writing. Sessions are scheduled based on availability. We require at least 2 weeks’ notice for cancellation or rescheduling. Training Tools Used The program includes the use of a Herm Sprenger prong collar for safe, clear communication with your dog. This collar will be properly fitted and introduced humanely. The Martin System e-collar may be used as part of the training when appropriate and agreed upon by the owner. Use of the e-collar is always conditioned carefully and applied with professionalism to ensure the dog’s comfort and success. Owners will receive detailed explanations of tool use during pick-up and training updates. Owner Participation & Communication While your dog is in training, we provide regular progress updates with photos and videos. At program completion, you will receive a customized training plan and guidance for continued success at home. We recommend a post-training consultation session (in person or virtual) to support your transition. Owner cooperation and consistent follow-through are critical to lasting results. Dog Requirements Dogs must be current on all vaccinations, including rabies and bordetella. Dogs should be in good health and at least 5 months old. Inform us in advance of any medical conditions, behavioral challenges, or aggression history. We reserve the right to decline or modify training for dogs with severe aggression or health risks.
